Don't be afraid,
I don't doubt you made the grade,
don't be aggravated or ashamed,
when they want to care,
so eat your fair share of the blame.
Draw near
and don't fear,
I'm practiced at saying everything
that I think that you want to hear,
I'll make the right noises in all the right places,
all the right sounds to all the same faces,
I'll ask the right questions
and be on your side,
tongue tied
I know my role
and say my lines without pause
or hesitation,
It's pre- ordained
and half restrained
no cause for consternation,
but
please don't ask to trade,
what lies behind my masquerade,
because I've really no idea.
I augment reality,
live a life of fantasy,
head in the clouds you see,
attempting redemption
in the hope I could cope,
with the concept
of a much better me.
