Hair gelled
and freedom felled,
trousers pressed
and dressed for success
The girth of self worship
expands
and makes demands,
angry internal voices raised
in praise of slavery,
the price of craving
Unblemished
and embellished,
make up
for fake looks,
manicured hands choke me,
glamorous Facebook housewives
poke me
It's no joke,
awoken to photoshopped,
edited and photos cropped,
that despite the fight
and struggle
won't let me go,
God
is in the ego.
